GORD and JMJ Group Holding Partner to Drive Sustainable Urban Development in Qatar

DOHA, Qatar – 28 May 2024 – The Gulf Organisation for Research and Development (GORD) and JMJ Group Holding have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance sustainable urban development in Qatar. The signing took place during Project Qatar 2024, commemorating GORD's 15th anniversary at the Doha Exhibition & Convention Center (DECC).

The MoU, signed by Dr. Yousef Alhorr, Founding Chairman of GORD, and Sheikh Jabor Bin Mansour Bin Jabor Al Thani, Chairman of JMJ Holding Group, aims to implement GORD's Global Sustainability Assessment System (GSAS) across JMJ’s projects. This initiative will extend JMJ’s portfolio of GSAS-certified developments from Lusail City to other prime locations, including The Pearl Qatar.

Dr. Yousef Alhorr stated, "This collaboration will expand green building best practices through the GSAS framework and has the potential to drive sustainable transformation across various sectors."

Sheikh Jabor Bin Mansour Bin Jabor Al Thani added, "Sustainability is central to JMJ’s ethos. Partnering with GORD will elevate our environmental performance and enhance our ability to implement best practices across our diverse portfolio."

The partnership also includes initiatives in capacity building, research and development (R&D), and carbon mitigation.
